Windows 8 Outperforming Ubuntu Linux With Intel OpenGL Graphics

When running the newer OpenArena 0.8.8 game that is still based upon the aging ioquake3 engine but at least takes advantage of GLSL and other slightly more modern OpenGL functionality, the Linux driver was faster to some surprise. The latest Ubuntu 13.04 state of Linux with the updated Git components led to a noticeable performance advantage for this not too popular game.

With the Qfusion-based Warsow first person shooter, the performance between Microsoft Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.04 was similar.
