Now let's take a look at how the Intel OpenGL performance between Windows and Linux is scaling for a range of resolutions...

The Intel Windows OpenGL driver is hitting some bottleneck when running OpenArena 0.8.8 with the Core i5 2500K and Core i7 3770K being at the same speed across all resolutions greater than 800 x 600. Meanwhile, the i7-3770K was about 86% faster on average over the i5-2500K at the range of resolutions that were tested -- except this only put the Ivy Bridge Linux graphics performance on-par with the Windows driver.

Nexuiz was the one OpenGL game that performed the same between Windows and Linux in the earlier tests in this article. As can be seen from this graph, at all resolutions from 800 x 600 through 1920 x 1080 the frame-rate is the same between competing operating systems.

When running Xonotic, at all resolutions the Windows 7 driver for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge graphics was much faster than Linux.
