The system power consumption of the Core i5 2400S was not terribly different from the other CPUs with this OpenGL game running.

While the Core i5 2500K operating temperature rose when being pounded with the multi-threaded C-Ray ray-tracer, the Core i5 2400S remained in line with the Core i3 models. The average CPU temperature with all four cores being utilized was a comfortable 56C with stock cooling.

The system power consumption while running C-Ray (being monitored by the Phoronix Test Suite using a USB-based AC power meter for the entire system) was at 82.4 Watts. This is higher than the 69 Watts on the two Core i3 models, but as shown by the results is definitely a difference when compared to the standard Core i5 2500K at 100 Watts.
