Intel Sandy Bridge Shapes Up On GCC 4.7 Compiler
When switching over to NASA's NAS Parallel Benchmarks (NPB), GCC 4.7 did show off some improvements over the GCC 4.6.3 stable compiler. These are the only set of Fortran-based tests in this article.
Compiling code with GCC 4.7 appears slower on Intel Sandy Bridge compared to GCC 4.6.
