GCC 7.0 vs. 6.3 vs. 5.4 vs. 4.9 Compiler Benchmarks On Linux x86_64
The C-Ray multi-threaded ray-tracer is running slower on GCC 7.
There also might be some GCC7 regressions with the Bullet Physics Library.
That's about it for the interesting data from this early GCC 7 compiler benchmarking. If you want to look at all of the GCC 4/5/6/7 results for the dozens of tests executed in full, visit this OpenBenchmarking.org result file. As GCC 7.1 nears its release in March~April, I'll be back with more Linux compiler benchmarks (including with LLVM Clang 4.0) as well as tests on ARMv7/ARMv8.
