FFmpeg took slightly longer in Fedora 11, but the results were still close.

C-Ray's performance has regressed in Fedora 11 and has yet to be corrected in Rawhide. Fedora 9 and 10 took roughly the same amount of time for this simple ray-tracing test to complete (just over 210 seconds), but with Fedora 11 and later it is now taking about 240 seconds with this Intel Core 2 Duo setup. This problem can be easily replicated by running phoronix-test-suite benchmark c-ray.

While C-Ray had regressed, POV-Ray had improved. Quite a bit of time was shaved off POV-Ray's run-time between Fedora 10 and 11, when there was the switch to GCC 4.4 and the newer Linux kernel.
