Next up are the power consumption and thermal results. Once again a USB-based WattsUp power meter was used to measure the overall AC power draw. The GPU temperature was monitored via the exposed NVIDIA-Settings information. This information was all monitored seamlessly in an automated manner by setting the environment variables PERFORMANCE_PER_WATT=1 MONITOR=sys.power,gpu.temp.

The GeForce GTX 750 was coming in cooler than the GTX 750 Ti. The eVGA graphics card had an average temperature of 51 Celsius versus 61 Celsius with the Ti model.

When running Unigine Valley the overall AC system power draw was 132 Watts with the eVGA GeForce GTX 750 while the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti came in at 140 Watts -- an 8 Watt difference, which seems about right given the TDP difference for the graphics card is 5 Watts.

When figuring out the performance-per-Watt, the eVGA GeForce GTX 750 came in right behind the GTX 750 Ti and represented a huge upgrade over Fermi and Kepler. Going from the GTX 550 Ti to GTX 750 yielded a 2.6x improvement in power efficiency or 1.5x improvement over the GTX 650.
