CSX 3GB DDR3-1600MHz Memory

Performance:

Triple memory kits such as the CEC3-1600-3GB-3KIT are really designed for Intel's Core i7 platform with its triple-memory controller, but you can still install this memory in an earlier Intel DDR3 system if you so choose. For our brief quantitative Linux memory tests we ran the CSX DDR3 memory on a system with an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 processor, ASUS P5E64 WS Professional motherboard, 160GB WDC WD1600JS-00MHB0 SATA HDD, and ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB graphics. On the software side was Ubuntu 8.10 with the Linux 2.6.27 kernel, GNOME 2.24.1, X Server 1.5.2, Catalyst 8.12, and GCC 4.3.2.

For running our real-world benchmarks was the Phoronix Test Suite with the Unigine Tropics, GraphicsMagick, LAME MP3 encoding, timed ImageMagick compilation, OpenSSL, and Sunflow Rendering System tests. We had tested the Compustocx memory when running at DDR3-1333MHz and then again when it was overclocked for this system to DDR3-1600MHz with 2.2V. We had also retested a pair of OCZ DDR3-1333MHz 2GB modules for comparison.
