Even when all three operating systems were on GCC 9.3, Ubuntu 20.04 was delivering measurably better performance in many of the workloads on this 10-core / 20-thread Comet Lake system.

In a few of the tests, FreeBSD 12.1 was the victor when using its default Clang-based compiler.
