Starting with the PostMark mail server disk benchmark, the 2013 MacBook Air PCI-E SSD performance is in line with the Retina MacBook Pro. Last year's Retina MacBook Pro with Ivy Bridge CPU had its SSD running at about the same speed as the new Haswell MacBook Air. These laptops did much better than the 2011 Mac Mini with traditional Hitachi 5400RPM HDD and even the 2010 MacBook Pro with the after-market OCZ Agility SSD.

It appears that Apple has much work ahead with improving the Intel Haswell graphics performance. The 2013 MacBook Air was coming up short of even the Intel HD 3000 "Sandy Bridge" graphics on the 2011 Mac Mini. At least with the upcoming OS X Mavericks we know Apple is working on OpenGL 4.x support and hopefully we will see some Haswell performance optimizations.
