Having eight processing cores really became useful in the local adaptive thresholding test for GraphicsMagick. A lone Shanghai was about 25% faster than our Barcelona part and having two led to about a 30% boost in performance. To reiterate though, the Opteron 2356 is clocked at 2.3GHz while the Opteron 2384 is clocked at 2.7GHz.

When performing image resizing with GraphicsMagick, sizable leads were found again with the AMD Shanghai.

At the image sharpening task, two Opteron 2384 processors had a 55% boost in performance over just one 2384.
