The opposite side of the FirePro V8800 PCB is covered in a metal protective plate.

At the rear of the graphics card are four DisplayPort connectors and a Stereoscopic output. Consuming much of the second expansion slot is the exhaust vent for the V8800 heatsink. This connectivity is a step-up from the V8700/V8750 that had the Stereoscopic output, two DisplayPort outputs, and then a single dual-link DVI connector. The four DisplayPort outputs will work under Linux with Eyefinity as long as you are using a very recent (fglrx 8.71 / Catalyst 10.2) release or newer. The open-source ATI Linux driver does not yet support Eyefinity, but it is unlikely you would ever use the open-source driver on a $1,500 USD workstation graphics card within a production environment. For those that have not yet made the jump to native DisplayPort monitors, AMD includes two DisplayPort to DVI adapters.

The AMD FirePro V8800 has CrossFire 2.0 connectors for CrossFireX support, but the proprietary Linux driver at this time only supports multi-GPU configurations of two graphics cards.

Two 6-pin PCI Express power connectors are required for this graphics card. When under full load, expect the AMD V8800 to consume just over 200 Watts, but the idling power consumption should be much less.

Here you can see how the AMD FirePro V8800 looks compared to the AMD FireGL V8600, FirePro V8700, and FirePro V8750.
