While Xonotic performed well on the open-source driver with high and ultra quality image settings, when the demanding first person shooter was running with ultimate quality settings, the Gallium3D performance faltered. R600g was now noticeably slower than the AMD Catalyst Linux driver on Ubuntu with the most intensive OpenGL image quality settings.

For Plot3D and Furmark, the open-source Radeon Gallium3D driver has a decent showing but the Catalyst driver is definitely superior for these GL3 benchmarks.
