The open-source vs. closed-source graphics driver results are not much different from recent testing of Radeon hardware on the R600g Gallium3D driver. However, due to this being a slower integrated GPU, not many visually-advanced Linux-native games are playable on the open-source stack at HD resolutions. There also isn't proper UVD video acceleration support at this time for Radeon hardware with open-source software. For more details and how the latest generations of Radeon hardware compares between the driver in terms of OpenGL performance, power consumption, thermal, etc read The Most Comprehensive AMD Radeon Linux Graphics Comparison.
