ASUS Radeon HD 3850 & 3870

EAH3870 Examination:

Unlike the EAH3850, the ASUS EAH3870 utilizes a dual-slot cooler that is almost identical to the Radeon HD 3870 reference design, aside from the "Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts" sticker across the heatsink. The dual-slot cooler covers both the GPU die and the GDDR4 video memory. While the cooling solution looks like it would operate very loud, it's actually very quiet, as we will share later in this article.

The EAH3870 is similar to the EAH3850 with its single 6-pin PCI Express connector, two dual-link DVI connections, and CrossFireX support. CrossFire or CrossFireX currently isn't supported under Linux by any of the open or closed source X.Org display drivers. The 3800 series similarities also extend to both having 320 stream processors, 16 texture units, 16 render back-ends, and support for PowerPlay and UVD.
