NVIDIA GeForce 7050

There is support for the NVIDIA GeForce 7025/7050 with NVIDIA's binary display driver and emerging support coming through Nouveau. For this article we had tested the NVIDIA GeForce 7050 graphics on the ASRock ALIVENF7G-HDREADY motherboard. This motherboard uses the GeForce 7050 and nForce 630a MCP and offers ASRock Untied Overclocking, HDCP DVI-D and D-Sub video output, 7.1 channel HD audio, and Gigabit networking. A review of the ASRock ALIVENF7G-HDREADY under Linux will be posted later this month.

The other motherboard we used for this comparison was the ASUS M2NPV-VM with its GeForce 6150 and nForce 430 MCP. The other hardware components we had used during testing was an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, 2GB of DDR2-800 system memory, Western Digital 160GB Serial ATA 2.0 hard drive, and SilverStone 750W power supply. Also used for this comparison was a NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 128MB PCI Express graphics card. Fedora 7 was used with the 2.6.21-1.3228.fc7 x86_64 kernel, X server 1.3, GCC 4.1.2, and the NVIDIA 100.14.11 display driver. The benchmarks being used in this comparison were Enemy Territory, Doom 3, Quake 4, and SPECViewPerf 9.
