No performance gains or losses were experienced when using the 8.28.8 drivers compared against the previous 8.27.10 drivers. There are a few moderate changes in this release, but nothing spectacular. To reiterate some of the changes are preliminary Fedora Core 6 support, combined 32/64-bit installer, several new aticonfig options, Radeon Xpress 1200/1250/1300 series support, and other bug fixes. NVIDIA's new Linux display drivers should be out very soon. In the time it took for the green team to release its last driver, ATI has released four drivers, many of which had contained significant improvements. If you want to throw around some additional numbers, this year ATI has pushed out eight driver releases while NVIDIA has only shown off two versions thus far. As always feel free to discuss ATI Linux on the Phoronix Forums.
