Examination:

When pulling the CoolPad out of the packaging, it did appear to be fairly large in size, but once placing a standard-sized laptop on the aluminum plate, we felt it was of perfect size. Although the entire unit is constructed out of aluminum, we didn't find it to be heavy where it would be a hassle dragging it around everywhere. Spanning the width of the CoolPad on both sides is an aluminum channel for assisting in the heat dissipation and to keep the fan intakes slightly elevated off the ground. In the center of the CoolPad, are the two Prime Cooler fans for cooling the laptop. On the side of the plateau where the two fans are located, is a USB connector for use with the included cable. The USB cable is used to power the two fans from the laptop.

Flipping over the Prime Cooler CoolPad, we see much of the same reliable construction as we had on the bottom side. On the top, there are a total of eight channels for keeping the actual laptop lifted off of the CoolPad by just a few millimeters, so there is room for the air to be pushed across the bottom of the laptop. To prevent any damage from occurring, there are small fan grills used on these fans, although they shouldn't restrict the airflow too much.
