While the new Catalyst 15.9 driver that was tested has the CS:GO application profile added, NVIDIA remains so much faster with their proprietary Linux driver than AMD... Yep, comparing the latest binary drivers, even the GeForce GTX 950 graphics card beats out the Radeon R9 Fury! Beyond the GTX 970, the frame-rates were becoming CPU-bound.

Not only does the GTX 950 come out faster than the Radeon hardware, it delivers the best performance-per-dollar, besides being very playable for CS:GO at 1080p. CS:GO isn't the most demanding game out there and for it to play at just 1920 x 1080, the GTX 950 is fine as long as you're using the proprietary NVIDIA driver.

On a performance-per-Watt basis, the GeForce GTX 980 was leading followed by the GTX 960. All of the GeForce GTX 900 Maxwell graphics cards were doing great compared to the power efficiency of the Radeon hardware due to the Catalyst Linux driver... If the Catalyst Linux driver was fit, the R9 Fury with its Fiji GPU and High Bandwidth Memory should be at the forefront.
