ZTE ZX DRM Driver Proposed For Linux 4.10
The Linux 4.10 kernel will likely see ZTE's "ZXDRM" display driver added.
The ZTE XZ DRM/KMS driver is for the ZTE VOU display controller. This display driver isn't yet feature-complete with it lacking overlay planes, scaling, and some display output interfaces but so far is reported to be working fine with dual CRTCs and HDMI displays.
This driver was developed by ZTE Corporation in conjunction with Linaro for having this open-source DRM/KMS display driver for ZTE SoCs. Like the other ARM DRM drivers (sans Freedreno and VC4), it's just about the display controller and not for any open-source 3D driver stack.
David Airlie, the DRM subsystem maintainer, said in another email to issue the pull request so this should indeed be staged for Linux 4.10. This DRM display driver adds around 2,300 lines of new code. Details here.
