Steam Beta Brings Many Improvements For Steam Controllers
If you picked up the Steam Controller during the recent deal that put it at just $35 USD or have had one of these controllers from Valve for some time, you'll definitely want to check out the latest Steam client beta available tonight.
Following this past week's big Steam stable update, there's a big Steam beta update today but it's mostly focused around Steam Controller improvements.
This Steam client beta update adds support with the Steam Controller for controller activators, the internal file format for Steam Controller handling has been reworked, various fixes, gyro optimizations, and a variety of other fixes. With regards to the new Steam Controller Activators functionality, "activators sit between inputs (like a button) and outputs (like a keypress) and allow for a variety of new behaviors and functionality."
The Steam client beta is also said to have improved compatibility with newer Linux distributions.
