AMD's Radeon RX Announcement For E3 2016

AMD's Lisa Su is taking the stage right now at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to talk more about the Radeon RX series. Thus the embargo has expired concerning today's announcements so here are all the details.

Last month at Computex it was all about the $199 USD Radeon RX 480 graphics card that will begin shipping at month's end. At the E3 event right now, the rest of the RX series line-up is being covered.

While the Radeon RX 480 is designed for 1440p gaming, the Radeon RX 470 is designed for HD 1080p gaming. The Radeon RX 460 meanwhile is also being shown off at E3 and it's for "cool and efficient" performance for e-sports gaming.

In common with the RX 480, the RX 460 and RX 470 also are engineered for an "extraordinary VR experience", manufactured on 14nm FinFET, HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.3/1.4, etc.

At least with the information I received in advance, the hard launch date and pricing on the Radeon RX 460 and RX 470 were not shared. More details on the rest of the Polaris line-up as they become available. I'll have Radeon RX 480 Linux benchmarks on Phoronix later this month and also plan on RX 460 and RX 470 tests too.
