Intel's Keith Packard has issued a pull request to David Airlie for their drm-intel-next branch for the Linux 2.6.40 kernel. The drm-nouveau-next was just pulled as well.

For the Linux 2.6.40 kernel, Intel is landing initial support for Ivy Bridge, their next-generation successor to Sandy Bridge to launch by year's end. The 2.6.40 code also has force-wake fixes for Sandy/Ivy Bridge hardware and a temporary FB for load detect. Also coming are more mode-setting clean-ups and disabling FBC on Ironlake to use RC6 instead.

With this Intel pull request for the Linux 2.6.40 kernel, Keith Packard assigns himself the new maintainer of the DRM Intel code. Chris Wilson was previously the maintainer of the Intel DRM driver, but Keith Packard is now taking over for unknown reasons. It's mentioned in this pull request email.

In preparation for the Linux 2.6.40 kernel whose merge window should be open in a few days with the imminent release of Linux 2.6.39, the next code for the Nouveau DRM was also merged. It's merge was already committed to David Airlie's DRM repository. There's nothing too incredibly fascinating about this merge, but there is some work in the power management area. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a firmware fix yet for the NVIDIA Fermi hardware.
