Red Hat Releases Beta Update To RHEL6
Red Hat has announced today the beta version of their first update to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. This beta provides a combination of bug-fixes, new features, and other work to customers of RHEL6.
Some of the improvements to be found in this first update beta of RHEL6 are virtualization performance optimizations, new hardware support, operational efficiency improvements, development improvements, and add-ons support.
The hardware improvements in this first beta include processor scheduler enhancements, the ability to dynamically add more memory and CPUs in a greater number of systems, support for PCI Express 3.0, and updates to a variety of device drivers.

For those looking towards the community alternatives to RHEL, there is Scientific Linux 6, but CentOS 6.0 has yet to be released.
