Mozilla Continues Moving Away From NPAPI Plugins
Firefox continues making progress on loosening web developers' and users' dependence on NPAPI plug-ins with a goal still in place to remove support for most NPAPI plugins by the end of 2016.
With the exception of Adobe Flash, Firefox continues making great strides on making NPAPI plug-ins obsolete by their work and others in providing superior functionality via native web APIs. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge also continue moving in a similar direction.
