LGP Remains Offline, MakePlayLive Also Gets Knocked Out
There's follow-ups to two unfortunate news stories on Phoronix in recent days.
First, it's now been a month that Linux Game Publishing has been offline. It was on 29 April when they were going to do "be migrating hosts and servers over the next few days" in an effort to improve reliability of their hosting infrastructure, etc. They've now been offline for one month with no further communication with their main web-site resolving, etc. The state of their Internet-based DRM solution for their recent titles is not clear and LGP hasn't responded to any requests for comments, including Facebook comments by their customers earlier this month.
Phoronix readers have also written in to say that Make Play Live has at least temporarily vanished from the Internet... Make Play Live was "the hub of a dynamic community focused on open technology and Free culture projects." It was through this setup that Aaron Seigo was working on most recently the Improv Mer ARM open-friendly development board, which as we reported on earlier this month, it looks like the Improv isn't going to happen. Reports of their web-site being down started coming in last night while earlier in the day was also reports of 502 error messages when trying to access Make Play Live's discussion forums.
We'll post when updates on either situation is available.
