Kernfs Is Updated To Be More Useful With Linux 3.15
The Kernfs code that's a split of the sysfs logic to make it more useful to other kernel subsystems wishing to have a virtual file-system, will get better in Linux 3.15.
Kernfs was originally introduced in Linux 3.14 with being based upon the sysfs code. With the Linux 3.15 driver core/sysfs patches, there's "lots of kernfs updates" in order to make the virtual file-system code more useful to other subsystems. Most of this work was done by Tejun Heo.
Kernel developers wishing to learn more about the Kernfs improvements for the Linux 3.15 kernel can see this pull request by Greg Kroah-Hartman. He also sent in on Tuesday the USB and staging updates. Besides some driver improvements, there isn't anything overly exciting with these other 3.15 merge requests.
