Linus Torvalds announced the Linux 3.13-rc1 kernel on Friday.

The Linux 3.13 kernel was officially released today with many new features. Linus announced the 3.13 kernel and it brings a ton of new features: better hardware device drivers, new file-system improvements, and other improvements.

There's already been tons of improvements covering the new work merged into the Linux 3.13 kernel so we'll leave the article at that for today and more details can be found via the 3.13-rc1 release announcement. More Linux 3.13 articles and benchmarks will be out in the coming days.
