Nouveau X.Org Update Brings Build Fixes & More
It's been a while since the last Nouveau X.Org driver update, but last night was marked by the xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.10 release and with it comes a handful of changes.
As with most DDX/X.Org drivers these days, there isn't too much exciting about this new release; most of the interesting Linux graphics driver developments now happen within the Mesa/Gallium3D drivers, the Linux kernel DRM code, or related projects like VA-API, etc.
The changes found with xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.10 is a PowerPC build fix, adding GPU identifiers to connector names for secondary GPUs, a fix for building against older X.Org Servers, and recognizing the GK208 GPU as a Kepler GPU. The NVIDIA GK208 GPU is used by the GeForce GT 630 and GT 640 graphics cards.
The brief Nouveau X.Org driver update release announcement can be found on the developers' list.
