Intel Still Working On HDMI Stereo 3D Support

Going back to last year Intel Linux developers have been working on Stereo 3D support for their graphics driver. The support is still a work-in-progress but the code is now up to its third revision.

This code is about supporting Stereo 3D as part of recent versions of the HDMI specification that have standardized the 3D display format. Changes are required to the individual DRM drivers themselves (in this case it's about the Intel hardware driver), libdrm, and then also intel-gpu-tools for test purposes.

Damien Lespiau of Intel published Stereo 3D v3 on Friday as the latest patches plus updates to the Intel tools too. If you happen to own a HDMI 3D display with Intel graphics, it's now a step closer to becoming a mainline reality.
