Canonical Releases Upstart 1.10 Init Daemon
With Ubuntu Linux still not relying upon systemd, the Upstart event-based init daemon has seen a new release just ahead of the Ubuntu 13.10 feature freeze.
Upstart 1.10 is a rather minor update and includes new bridges for starting jobs based upon local socket connections or DConf/GSettings changes, a new reload signal stanza, re-exec fixes, shutdown fix for session inits, and a new Python 3 module.
More details on the Upstart 1.10 changes can be found via this blog post.
