Just two months after the Qt Creator 2.7 release, Digia has released the first beta of the feature-bearing Qt Creator 2.8.

Qt Creator 2.8 introduces a split new window opening mode, improved C++ support in Qt Creator, a new side-by-side diff viewer for code that was experimental in 2.7, a Python code editor, Android and QNX support fixes, and many new features to the Git version control integration.
