Android Support Being Merged For Qt 5.1
Digia is planning on merging Google Android support into the mainline Qt code-base for Qt 5.1, the next major release of the open-source toolkit due out later this year.
Specifically, Digia is planning to merge its feature branch containing the Android support into the mainline development branch in two weeks time. Paul Olav Tvete on behalf of Digia is hoping to get their branched Android support reviewed and cleaned-up in the next few days.
Up to this point there's been the Necessitas project under the KDE umbrella for Qt support on Android, but rather than this independent community project there will now be official support as of Qt 5.1.
The Qt 5.1 Android update was shared this week on the developer mailing list.
This next Qt release is due out in Q2 and will also feature improved Wayland support.
