DRM Pull Request Goes In For The Linux 3.8 Kernel

David Airlie has sent in the highly-anticipated DRM pull request for the Linux 3.8 kernel. This includes the new Tegra driver and changes to the Nouveau/Radeon/Intel graphics drivers.

Highlights of the DRM changes in Linux 3.8 include:

- The open-source NVIDIA Tegra driver that supports Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 hardware. The 2D acceleration support is still being worked on.

- The Radeon driver notably supports the a-sync DMA engines for providing significant performance improvements.

- The Radeon driver also supports more HDMI registers, evicion speed-ups, and various fixes.

- The Intel driver should finally have Haswell hardware support in good shape plus various other work.

- Samsung Exynos support improvements including the integration of the IPP sub-system.

- The Nouveau driver has display class re-working plus Z-compression support for NV20 through NV40 GPUs.

- The Intel GMA600 Poulsbo driver now has HDMI support.

- TTM memory management has the start of locking fixes plus RCU usage for look-ups.

- Core DRM has documentation updates, DocBook integration, Monotonic clock usage, and other changes.
