LINUX KERNEL
The final release of the Linux 3.4 kernel is about one week away, but until then there is the 3.4-rc7 kernel to take for a spin.

Linus began the 3.4-rc7 announcement on Saturday evening by saying, "This is almost certainly the last -rc in this series - things really have calmed down, and I even considered just cutting 3.4 this weekend, but felt that another week wouldn't hurt."

As far as the changes in this seventh weekly release candidate for the Linux 3.4 kernel, it's mostly small fixes scattered throughout.

Some of the most prominent kernel features introduced in Linux 3.4 are mentioned in this article.
