Plans Brewing For Libinput 1.0
Peter Hutterer of Red Hat has laid out some plans for releasing libinput 1.0 and coming up with a stable ABI/API.
Libinput 0.11 was released this weekend and its API/ABI is just about set, but there still may be some last minute API alterations in the next week or two. However, Peter is fairly confident that the next release (libinput 0.12) will be the last time the API/ABI needs to break.
In terms of doing the libinput 1.0 release, Peter hopes to have that ready around the 0.13~0.14 versions, which is just a few releases out for this speedy project.
On the downside, Peter said that the tablet support for Libinput probably won't be ready for the 1.0 release nor will the button set API be ready. On the other hand, the input gestures support might be merged to mainline before Libinput 1.0 in the weeks ahead.
