While many Windows and Linux gamers were looking forward to the Valve VR headset, a.k.a. the HTC Vive, it will only end up shipping in limited quantities this year.

The consumer release of this headset was supposed to happen in Q4'2015, but now for most people you won't be able to get your hands on the devices until early 2016.

Valve announced yesterday, "Later this year, HTC will offer the first commercial Vive units via a limited quantity of community and developer systems, with larger quantities shipping in calendar Q1 2016."

Hopefully all of the Steam Machines and Steam Controller will stay on track for their Q4 debut.
