Gallium3D Clover Gets OpenCL 1.2 clCreateImage Support
Mesa's Gallium3D "Clover" state tracker still lacks full OpenCL 1.2 support, but as of yesterday the CL 1.2's clCreateImage() function was hooked up.
With this commit written by Serge Martin and reviewed by Francisco Jerez, this important OpenC 1.2 function is now implemented. There was also this related commit yesterday that marks the latest activity on this OpenCL state tracker used by the Radeon and Nouveau Gallium3D drivers.
The clCreateImage function is used for creating a 1D, 2D, or 3D image, image buffer, or image array object. Documentation here. This OpenCL 1.2 addition will be found in the next Mesa release, likely to be called Mesa 11.1.
