As it's managed to kill wine (and hence all the reasons I /have/ a 3d graphics card), like no other release has, and it still doesn't support 1440x900... I'll vote for that. Most overhyped release, certainly.

Im also having similar problems, for example: scrolling in firefox is a pain, really sluggish. Watching a movie almost doesnt work, flickering like hell!
Overall bad performance.

Better performance before with xgl... It's a shame.

Same here on a Macbook PDro C2d (X1600) with gusty, AIXGL is working it was much smoother using XGL and the original drivers included in gusty (8.37) !!! Tried to use XGL again still slow !!! HATE THIS!!!

I do think the new driver is just a baby. Young and buggy . Nothing more nothing less.

i have the same problems with an X1950 PRO (256MB DDR3). Compiz flicks a bit and paint windows (specially firefox) are very slow.
Theme QTcurve don't run well so i back to plastik.

In general it work slow, bad performance, but on the other hand, i think it is the first step: "The baby will grow up"

These drivers work pretty well for me. There are some issues but this is a great start.

AIGLX works well, and thats what i really wanted.
3d works well
fgl_glxgears gets me 3000+ fps with aiglx goin

Issues:
Firefox scrolling
Some compiz effects are jittery, while others are very smooth
Videos flicker so much that they are unwatchable

i have a x1950pro btw

If you're experiencing problems with compiz maybe AIGLX is not working so well .
Firefox scrolling is not a minor issue.
If the videos are unwatchable maybe something is bad...don't you think so?

Anyone else experiencing really slow scrolling in firefox? I mean real slow. Even Firefox popups (like Remember password? etc) are real slow to develop.

compiz is working fine, got the cube rotating, etc, and it seems to be running fine

Gutsy Ubuntu
3200 Amd
R420 AGP Video Card
1 gig ram.

(ok, i see others are having firefox problems, add me to the list)

Just doing more compiz tests, compiz is definitely faster with the open source radeon driver.

fgl_glxgear is giving 2300 fps

display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON X800 XT
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6958 Release
