Default What score have you in glxgears ?

Hi,
could you send your score in glxgears with processor, ram, graphic card (default Intel 4500HD), OS ?

I read that score 2500-4500 / 5 sec : C2D P9500, 4GB ram , intel 4500HD amd Ubuntu 9.10 with default drivers -If it's true, i think that score is very weak

I'm wainting for yours opinion.

P.S.
My score on laptop dell vostro 1500 with C2D T7300 (2GHz) and 2G ram and GF8600GT is 10-12k per 5 sec - Ubuntu 9.10.

glxgears is not a benchmark. If you want to compare systems, go to http://www.phoronix-test-suite.com/ or even most anything else but not glxgears. If any additional glxgears scores are posted to this thread, it will be closed and users potentially blocked. Again, glxgears is not a benchmark.

Is a very basic benchmark. Mainly for raw thruput, thats very high with nvidia cards compared to the rest.

In this case I think it's measuring blitter performance, not 3D performance.

What is blitter for you? You definitely see 3 gears in 3d but without textures.

Yeah, glxgears doesn't use texturing AFAIK. If you look at where the time goes when running glxgears, most of it is spent in GLSwapBuffer copying (blitting) the back buffer (where the gears were drawn) to the front buffer (where you can see the gears in their new position).

That's why people say glxgears isn't a particularly relevent benchmark - the score is more a function of the back-to-front buffer copy speed than 3d drawing speed.

Usually you should get 60 when vsync is on. With nvidia drivers installed without vsync it should be very high.

It's a vSync issue?
