I'm not so sure. Mythfrontend plays fine but when I put anything in front of it, playback lags something shocking. Was fine with 9.2.

Atm I'm putting it down to the alpha status but I'm afraid 9.4 is looking like my turning point if fglrx doesn't impress me enough.

Question Sorry to butt in, but what was the problem?

What ATI wine problem? My 4670 with 8.12 worked as well as I could hope. Anything platinum rated in wine's appdb worked as expected (Tiberian Sun, RR Tycoon 3, Red Faction etc). I got as far as running far cry pretty well on low res/effects but that's more a limitation of my lightweight card anyway right?
Put together my 1st Linux computer with ATI & am perfectly happy (No more pricy windows! )
What was the problem that I don't think I ever had?

I have tried aticonfig --initial, no luck.

Debian Lenny 64bit
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ stepping 03
ATI 4870 512M
4G ram.
Asus M3A-H/HDMI
Compiz on.

EDIT: Ah, it's no biggy, switching off compiz for mythtv fixes it.

Have you tried QW, or can I please ask you to try their demo or savage 2 demo? Just to see if you got texture problems with 9.4.
