      thats just an exampel.

if the game runs on 2.1+extensions this means the game do not run on 2.1 at all.
Dude I can tell you for a fact that that UT3 was running fine in early 2008 on wine on a 8800GT.

UT3 could be even ran on a 6200 and even an ATI 9600.

I have no affiliation with the DRM LGP uses- in fact, I've not heard from them in a while. Nice try, but no cigar, sir.

last time i play an physX game it runs in wine right CPU only(amd card).

physX for linux is just worst because x87 code no multicore and nvidia only on the gpu
That's about to change- and it's HARDLY the same as "not there".

However, the game WOULD run on DX9... Sorry, just because it wanted it doesn't mean it needed it. When will you figure out...you're arguing this with someone that does this stuff?

if the game runs on 2.1+extensions this means the game do not run on 2.1 at all.
Just because it can run on 2.1+extensions, doesn't mean it needs to or requires it.

You may think you've proven your point, but all you've done is make yourself look sillier than usual here...

Maybe this will just be another strange case of Valve Time!

                  Valve Time: "No comment."
                  Actual Time: "This christmas"
                  Item: "Steam for Linux"

It would make perfect sense! Right? Right?

I think they'll get Steam for Linux when it's done. Perhaps in time for Duke Nukem Forever.

Sure you can, but when your running them on those minimum requirement cards you are not running in VESA mode. They are running with hardware acceleration. When you said:

because you can not run it on dc9 hardware like an X1950
that is a bunch of bull. Here is even some benches if you wish:

                    UT3 1024x768

Not even Epic stoops so low as to list cards that can only use software rendering.
In fact UT3 plays quite nicely on a 7600GT card as well with hardware rendering.

                    Yes the full game.

He is not talking about 1/2 the game. There are Physx and non-Physx versions of the levels. Also nvidia's Physx is being optimized for multicore SSE optimization as well in a soon to be released version of it. In any case even the older x87 base does not slow down to the extremes you are claiming unless for some reason you are running it on a underclocked atom processor.

Maybe when Wayland is finished and is used alongside X, game developers will be more willing to make Linux ports because they can simply have it rendered in Wayland instead of X. My understanding is that programing would be easier with Wayland than with X. It won't hurt when 32-bit computers become obsolete because they would only need to make 64-bit code.
