    Interesting, hopefully the documentation of these chips will be cleared more easily than the previous gen and open drivers will arrive soon after or on release day.

    One thing still troubles me, though... Why did they not include more TMUs into the new chips? They'd better be very fast to compete against the 64TMU monster nVidia has (effectively twice as much). I suppose these new chips will have some shader monster performance.

      When it comes to engineering, everything is a tradeoff. I'm sure that they get something out of having fewer TMUs, and that NVidia had to give up something to have more of them. I'll wait for real-world benchmarks, prices, and power ratings before I decide what card to buy...
