As question. Some manufacturers have already started shipping 80211ac wifi devices (mainly USB) which currently only have Windows drivers. And Intel is due to release its own 80211ac driver in Q2 3013, and yet the mac80211 stack in Linux is still apparently not even 80211ac ready. This is in spite of the fact that Intel claims its upcoming ac adapter (which is in mPCIe form) will support Linux, which I find hughly improbable considering how mac80211 still is in no position to support the latest addition to the 80211 wireless networking standard.
Can anyone who is an authority (or is familiar with) in the wifi stack development in Linux comment on this?
