Did they fix the gvim bug? I think it first surfaced with 260.19.06

Couldn't tell you. No changelog yet and I don't use gvim, I use ultraedit for linux.

          New Nvidia Drivers

ill try those, hopefully they can cohabit with ati display drivers, because so far 260 always breaks the nvidia control panel

This is very unlikely when you know how many files are replaced by nvidia. It is impossible to use oss 3d - in best case 2d. Lots of files are replaced with nvidia binary, i dont think that has something to do with 260 series as you mentioned, this was ALWAYS the case. On U 10.04+ they are not replaced but in other sub dirs where those are selected via a ld.so.conf hack triggered by update-alternatives when you use a ppa.
