  • nvidia screen0, ati screen1&2 ?

    Yeah...cats and dogs sleeping together.

    I'd like to run a primary display (1900x1200) using onboard nvidia digital DVI (this works).

    I have PCIe x16 ati 3650 dual dvi in the machine I'd like to use to drive screens 1&2 (1680x1050). I don't care about opengl on these displays.

    So booting with onboard primary...it seems the atom bios won't initialize with the radeonHD driver.

    Booting with PCIe primary the nvidia onboard isn't detected by 'X'.

    Is there any way to kick the ATI card in the ass to initialize the atom bios on start of 'X' ?
    Or must I replace the ATI card with an nvidia ?

    If your using the nvidia blob it won't work.

      The ATI pci-e card shows up as BusID 03

      Added to grub config kernel line:

      pci=rom

      I put this in my "local.start" (gentoo)

      echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:03\:00.0/rom
      echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:03\:00.0/enable

      This allowed the ATI card to be recognized.

      I've got one more combination to try to see if I can get this to work.
