  • multiple Kernel version benchmarks

    Howdy All,

I believe this was done as an article which i can't seem to find (link me please), but i'd like to seemultiple kernel versions being performance tested...All with pretty much the same compilation options run through some sort of benchmarks. Some kernels were tested (like 2.6.26 vs 2.6.25), but i'd kinda like to see 2.6.27 vs 2.6.26 vs 2.6.25 vs 2.6.24 vs 2.6.23 vs 2.6.22 or something close.

As i said, i believe Phoronix did this, but i can't find the article.

Damn you're fast, Michael :P ...Yep, that was it...I thought/was hoping that it would be more recent and have 2.6.24-2.6.26 at least on it (I'm finally considering upgrading my Debian Lenny system from 2.6.24 to 2.6.26 and i'd like to see a performance review and i'm too lazy to do it myself :P ) but i'm glad to see there may be a new one in the near future.

I just got some craving for some more benchmarking weekend work, so look for a new kernel comparison early next week.... 2.6.28-rc6 back to every major kernel release until the system isn't compatible.

Just wondering...What happened with this? Sadly, almost a Month later and no multiple kernel version benchmark

Got distracted with some other articles, but this may come up once 2.6.28 is out.
