  • Colour mapping baddage

    On a Scientific Linux 6 system, 2.6.32-431.11.2.el6.x86_64
with a Radeon Hd 7770 card (VERDE, 0x683d)

    I installed catalyst 14.4rc.
Using application "xv" (3.10a.jumbopatch.20070520-18) to display JPEG image files with large color blocks shows a messed up result. Some parts of the image are relocated to other areas. If the image is displayed again, it is messed up, but in a different way. The file itself seems to be OK. I know xv is ancient and not respected, but this problem does not occur with the open source driver, nor with nVidia cards.

Also, with a streaming XVideo application running, displaying a UYVY stream, occasionally the entire window background flashes pink and green. Possibly the color map for the streaming window is getting confused with the color map for the background.
