hope they fix the performance as it took a nose dive after 10.1

no point in reporting it would takes months to aknowlage and try find a fix.

seems like source engine games take the biggest hit

I'm looking forward to the inevitable Dec. article about how disappointing the lack of GL 4 is, because this isn't happening until 2015.

The good news is we should go straight from GL3.3 to GL4.2 all at once.

Re-enable hyperz if it's a problem. The fact that you won't even submit a bug report says a lot.

I see you're taking the approach often taken in articles on this site of bringing up unverifiable/generic problems without providing further details. That's by far the best way to not get them fixed, if that's your goal, keep at it!

It is mostly just hyperz which is disabled now by default and you can enable it if you wish - but beware of all bugs you may have if you do so .

Of course if it is stable it is good feature to have enabled all the time, especially on slow and/or low memory bandwith setups . Users with high and powerfull cards may not care or not need it all the time , only in most demanding games where every frame metters .
