Very interesting there will be a CPU only OpenCL driver included.
Getting the CPU driver in good shape and relatively bug free in the not too distant future is more realistic than the GPGPU drivers.
Basic x86 changes less than the GPU instruction sets in GPU's. There for the CPU driver can be made to work somewhat reliable, relatively bug free and give something to developers that can be used for testing OpenCL applications in the not too distant future. Since the GPGPU drivers will need more time and work to get them to work than the CPU driver. Having a CPU driver can really help and drive adoption for OpenCL.
